Today's painting began with the idea of a foliage design motif and developed into a narrative of a warm summer scene inspired by the unseasonal 80 degree temps yesterday and today.

Malawi child receiving Food for Peace
Daily watercolor painting #245
6x6 on coldpress
Today's painting goal was a memory exercise to recall a recent image seen on tv of a Malawi child receiving a bowl of food.
Here's what I learned: The U.S. Food for Peace Program, began in the 1970s, under Title ll. The Malawi children receive food from Bush's LIFE inititiative, Leadership and Investment in Fighting an Epidemic for children affected by HIV/AIDs in Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambiqui, Rwanda and Uganda.
A Lubbock, Texas food mfg is Breedlove Dehydrated Foods, which works with Christian ministries to get food to famine stricken areas.
