A landscape study. THe conditions were easier because the bees were knocked out from the cooler night and didn't appear until the last hour or so. Western Iowa has gentle rolling Loess Hills.

Began with a sketch that simplified the shapes for the composition and served as a handy reference tool as I painted. Paid attention to color and value.
